Week 2 in Review

The final game of week 2 is finished, and to be honest, I still don’t know for sure what’s going on. That’s the beauty of the NFL. The other beautiful thing is that I won all my fantasy football games this weekend, I can’t remember that ever happening before.

Week 2 Roundup

Tennessee simply has Indy’s number. While Peyton and company can simply roll over most of their opponents, Vince Young simply knows how to keep it close. He kept this game close until the final play. Meanwhile, Indy’s arch-nemesis continued to look lights out (no pun intended for any of your Shawn Merriman fans out there). I don’t know if anyone will be able to keep Bill Belicheat’s team from taking the Super Bowl.

New Orleans keeps on winning and Houston just can’t get their act straight. Wait, back the truck up. Houston moves to 2-0 and New Orleans fell to 0-2. I really don’t know what to think about Houston, Carolina is a solid team and Houston took care of business.

Jon Kitna predicted that the Lions would win 10 games this year, waves of laughter ensued. But this team is starting to look legit. Beating Oakland last week could be excuses because, hey, it’s Oakland; but Minnesota has a great defense and Detroit came together at the end to pull this one out. I think they just might make those 10 wins afterall.

In Chicago, Hester reminded everyone why he is the man. He had a punt return for a touchdown, and he had another that was called back because of a penalty. Meanwhile, Chicago’s only offensive touchdown was scored by an eligible offensive lineman. Their defense is amazing, maybe better then last year, but their offense is going to have to learn to move the ball if they want to be taken seriously this year.

Cleveland exploded for 51 points and combined with Cincinnati to amass almost 1,100 yards. 51 points! That’s more than they scored in the last 4 games combined. Derek Anderson continues this kind of production, people will be saying, “Brady who?”

And to finish it out, the old man just kept on tickin’. Brett Fav-ruh set the record for most wins ever for a QB. He’s only a couple passing touchdowns away from setting that record too. I’m one of those people that think he should have called it quits a few years back, but he looks better now than he has for quite some time. And if that defense can keep playing like it has so far, we just might be looking at a meaningful Detroit – Green Bay game late in the year, egads!
