T.W.I.S.T. for August 15-21

After debuting our new Saturday Shenanigans logo for you yesterday, today we’ve also got a brand spanking new logo for T.W.I.S.T.! Yippee! If you like it, let us know in the comments, if you don’t, screw you! I kid, I kid. Feel free to tell me how much you dislike it in the comments too if that’s more your persuasion, either way, today is the last day to get yourself entered into our contest to win a $25 iTunes gift card, so I want you to leave some sort of comment… do it for the kids!

Now that the shameless plug is over, let’s get on with the sports stories for the week, after the jump.

College Football

Fresno State and Nevada accepted invites this week from the Mountain West conference, just 4 days after their league (the WAC) finalized a deal that would fine teams $5 million if they chose to depart. Meanwhile, BYU is mulling jumping from the Mountain West into the WAC. The WAC even went so far as to draw up a tentative schedule for BYU in the 2011 season. The landscape of college football is far from finalized, you just need to get used to these stories of teams changing conferences.

MMA

Gregg Doyel had a couple great blog posts about Dana White and why he’s the perfect guy to lead the UFC, they’re both great additions to my MMA history posts if you’ve been reading those over the course of the last month. Here’s the first part, and here’s the second.

We had 2 events this week in the world of MMA, WEC 50 and Strikeforce 27, click the links to read our summary of each event.

NBA

After all the hoopla created by the Miami Heat and Lebron James this summer, it looks like Carmelo Anthony could be the next big name to change teams. Rumors are flying around that Melo will join Amare, and possibly Chris Paul in New York to form another Big 3 in the Eastern Conference.
