  • New NCAA 2011 Teambuilder site is up!! (sorta)

*Edit: Looking for NCAA Football 2011 rosters file download and custom stadium sound information? Details here.

*Edit2: Don’t have internet on your console? Here’s a guide to using a flash drive to get the rosters.

First quick thing I’ll throw out there is for you guys who are anticipating the upcoming release of NCAA Football 11. If you don’t know what to do until July 13, try out the new Teambuilder site. EA hasn’t made any sort of official announcement about this new site, and it has been glitching up quite a bit for just about everyone who’s been trying it, but feel free to poke around. You can at least look at the new roster rankings for the upcoming season.

To see the new roster rankings, after you register on the site (if you haven’t already) just create a new team and click on the far right button ‘Roster’. Here you can select any base roster for your team. Once the team is loaded you can look through and see everyone’s ratings on your favorite team. I’ll be sure to post again if they make some sort of official announcement or change the location of the page. Quick, go try it out and kill a couple hours…

  • Welcome Back… ME!!

Hey everybody! My name is Dave, I helped Aaron and Fred back when we started out on this endeavor called Hijinks Inc. but ultimately fell by the wayside. I didn’t feel that my content really fit too well with what they were both writing about, and I lost a bit of my gusto. Aaron was gracious enough to invite me back and I jumped at the opportunity to join the crew again.

A quick update on my bio since I was last here, as well as the biggest news thus far in my life: I have a new son! He is probably the coolest little person on the planet, at least in my slanted viewpoint. That’s about all that’s changed, otherwise everything coincides with that event, learning how to live with a baby and all that changes along with that. But it’s been great.

I’ve been asked to write movie and game reviews, but you’ll probably get some sports stuff thrown in there too, as that is one of my biggest hobbies, and maybe an occasional post about parenting, as I think I’m the only one around here with a kid running around. I might not always write about the most recent movies and games, but I hope that at the very least you guys get some amusement from my posts. If you so choose you can find me on Twitter ( @sackdaddy ). Glad to be back, you can look for my first new review tomorrow.

  • And… all is right with the (sports) world.

What better time to write up a post than during a prep session for our latest podcast? I’ve been keeping an eye on the NBA playoffs, and was intrigued with all the struggles the Boston Celtics have had throughout the post season. Let me give you a quick breakdown:

They were the best team in the league record-wise to end the season. They had the best road record, and the best defense, two priorities if you intend to be a legitimate threat through the playoffs. They came bursting into the playoffs against a #8 team in Atlanta, a team they should’ve had absolutely zero trouble sending into their offseason. They proceeded to bludgeon the Hawks for the first two games in their home arena, then they went to Atlanta, and got destroyed. This trend proceeded through the entire first round, with the home team winning each game decisively and the Celtics advancing in 7 games.

Advancing to the 2nd round brought Lebron James and the Cavs to town. Boston completely owned King James for games 1 and 2… in their home arena… and then got used when the Cavs played at home. Again, this whole series went along those lines with the home team winning each game, and Boston advanced in 7 games to play Detroit.

Never before has a team been so dominating in the regular season, and had a situation like this happen in the playoffs. They look like an unstoppable force at home, and they don’t look like they belong in the playoffs on the road. But, and I only say this to bring this post back full circle, they have advanced to the conference finals, as was predicted, and at least for now, all is right with the sports world!

  • Happy Mother’s Day!

I figure that probably the only people that actually read some of these articles are our mom’s, so it’s only right to wish them a Happy Mother’s Day. Thanks mom’s for putting up with all of our sarcastic remarks growing up, all of our moronic ideas (and the friends that gave them to us!), and all of our stupidity growing up. You’re the best!
