How To: Use Formation Subs in NCAA 11

EA Sports just released a nice little series of tutorial videos showing you how to use the formation subs in NCAA Football 11, among other things. In addition to the step by step guide, they give some nice scenarios when it would be best to consider using the formation subs. Video and links after the jump. (more…)

  • Hijinks Reviews: NCAA Football 11

Mmm… football. I’m not gonna lie, I’ve been looking forward to NCAA Football 11 since, well, since NCAA 10 came out I guess. After renting ’10, I was pretty unimpressed with the ‘upgrades’ made from NCAA 09, and decided to stick with ’09.

But when I read the ‘first look’ on ESPN a few months ago, I was instantly grabbed by this year’s edition. So many long overdue changes were being made, this really seemed like it would be what college football video games have been promising us since they made it to next-gen consoles. But does it deliver? Find out after the jump.

  • Entry Level Geek: Marvel Comics Reading Chronology

I’ve been back here at Hijinks for just under a month, I’ve brought you The MMA Minute, T.W.I.S.T., Saturday’s Shenanigans, and helped to re-popularize (re-popularize? Is that even a word?) Hijinks Reviews of all sorts. It only makes sense that I’d squeeze in one more new ‘theme’.  I’m not sure anybody is actually reading these, but I’m still crankin’ them out regardless!

With that entry out of the way, welcome to Entry Level Geek. This title inadvertently describes the reason I’m here at Hijinks in the first place! Said nicely, I’m not at the same level of geekdom or nerdery as the rest of our terrific staff, you probably realized that after the first or second post I made. But they haven’t kicked me out yet, so I must trudge forward. Entry Level Geek will include an assortment of things but will probably center mostly around comics and maybe some rumors about upcoming movies based on comics (Avengers anyone? The next Batman flick?). I chose Entry Level Geek because I’ve just recently begun my trip into the world of comics, so I’m far from an expert, but I’m having fun taking it all in.

To find out what all this nonsense is about, follow me through the jump. (more…)

How To: Load NCAA 11 Rosters With A Flash Drive

I’ve had a number of people hitting me up on twitter asking how to download the updated rosters without Xbox Live or the PSN. After searching high and low for the information, I figured it would be easier to just centralize it here. PS3 and Xbox walkthroughs after the jump. (more…)

  • Saturday’s Shenanigans = Entertainment News + Double Rainbow

In honor of the great Nathan Fillion (@NathanFillion on Twitter) and his spearheading of the new “it” phrase ‘double rainbow‘, I will bring you the entertainment news this week with a double rainbow rating:

Totally not double rainbow: After last weeks news that Ed Norton officially would not be back in the role of Bruce Banner and turning into the Hulk, we have a new possibility to fill Banner’s shoes: Joaquin Phoenix. Please, are you serious? If this is true, I’m going to be awfully upset. Marvel said they didn’t want to pay Norton and that he was to difficult to deal with. So your solution is go get another A-lister? One who grew a big homeless guy beard, ‘retired’ and turned himself into a rapper for a ‘documentary’? Yeah, sounds like the perfect example of reasonable and accountable.

Double rainbow across the sky, all the way: Another rumor about Mark Ruffalo replacing Norton seems a bit more on the level. Apparently they are in advanced stages of negotiations, it looks like this is probably going to happen. (more…)
