Ok, I’ll admit, I don’t know ANYTHING about this movie. This picture of Rainn Wilson rocking out is the first I’ve seen or heard of it. But apparently it’s called The Rocker and a new trailer is up over at Yahoo. I just watched the trailer… and this movie has officially been added to my list of movies I’d like to see this summer.

My new favorite brand of gum.
I read this over at Cinematical in an article by Erik Davis, he says it about as good as I could, so I’ll just let him to the honors:
Not for nothing, but this could be the oddest piece of movie marketing I’ve ever seen. So we already know there’s a petition out there to stop Uwe Boll from making films, and this came about after the infamous director told FEARNet that he’d quit making films if one million people signed a petition. For about a week or so, a number of people tried to capitalize off the dude’s ridiculous antics, and Boll even viewed the whole thing as pretty good (and free) press since his new film Postal was debuting on May 23.
Cut to today: Cinematical received a press release in our inbox letting us know that Stride Gum is now “supporting the efforts of StopUweBoll.org in their attempt to convince famed film director Uwe Boll to stop making video game-based films.” Oh yes, Stride Gum. Makers of … gum. And if one million people sign this petition by May 23rd (opening day for Postal), then all one million folks will receive a digital coupon for a free pack of gum. Wait, I don’t know if you were paying attention just then — I said a FREE PACK OF GUM!
As Michael Kelso would say… “BURN!!!”

Hitman the movie is free
Don’t ask me how or why, but you can grab yourself a free copy of Hitman for a limited time (as in until Apple catches on). There’s a little glitch in iTunes that allows you to grab it for free, though after watching the first three minutes I decided free was just too high a price and deleted the film.
Check it out for yourself:
In iTunes, click iTunes store, look for the “Browse” on Quick Links in the right hand side. Than, select “Movies” and then “Thriller”. Look for the title “Hitman”. You will see it is free (as pictured below) for the whole version at 1.06GB. I can download it and watch it successfully.

Adventures in Applecare: iPod Touch Dead Spot (Conclusion)
The Story
The Update
The ConclusionSo I got my iPod back today, and while the email I got on Monday told me Apple couldn’t reproduce my problem, just being in the factory must have done something because the dead spot is no more. The canned letter they sent back with it said that “The perceived fault may have been resolved as a consequence of the test procedure itself (internal iPod software update, reset and restore operations, etc).” Hey, whatever works, I’m sure not complaining.
Now to jailbreak it again..

E*Trade is raising their rates!
I just received an email from E*Trade, informing me that starting tomorrow they will be raising the interest rate on their Complete Savings accounts from 3.01% to 3.15%! Not a huge jump, but when you consider that the Fed just cut interest rates by 0.25% last week and most banks lower their interest rates when that happens, this is definitely good news.
Just thought I’d share the news.
