  • The 5 Best TV Characters Under The Radar

Last week I gave you all my recommendations for the upcoming fall TV season. The process of combining all the shows I watch into a single schedule made me start to think about all the great characters these shows represent. While everybody loves watching Jim, Pam, Michael, and Dwight on The Office, what makes that show so great is the cast of outstanding characters that comes along with those stars.

A great supporting character can occasionally go episodes at a time without any screen time, but then they show up and can completely steal the scene, even from the main character. It’s these characters that really make today’s top shows work, and I’ve got my 5 favorite supporting characters for you, in no particular order, after the break.

  • Saturday Shenanigans: Recent Entertainment News

Hey there, welcome to another edition of Saturday Shenanigans, let’s get started:

As we all know, all good things must come to an end. While I’m not the worlds biggest Entourage fan, I’ve enjoyed watching the series, but it’s coming to an end after next season, which will be a shortened 8th season. More than likely, we’ll get a feature film a little further down the road.

Some of the hosts of the upcoming season of SNL are being announced, one I’m excited about seeing is Jane Lynch! She’s always fun to watch and she’s set to host the October 9th show.

Blockbuster is doing everything possible to stay semi-relevant. They’ve begun to offer video games in their rent-by-mail service. I never tried GameFly, but I might give this a go. If they had the convenient streaming option that Netflix offers via Xbox 360, I would switch in a heartbeat.

  • Saturday’s Shenanigans: Recent Entertainment News

Welcome to the first edition of Saturday’s Shenanigans, another series I hope to bring you on a regular basis. I’ll just bring you some quick takes on some of the recent news from the entertainment world.

I’m sure most of you know that Spider-Man is heading for a reboot and we now have our new Peter ParkerAndrew Garfield. Yeah, I’ve never heard of him either. On selecting Garfield, director Marc Webb said, “Though his name may be new to many, those who know this young actor’s work understand his extraordinary talents. He has a rare combination of intelligence, wit, and humanity. Mark my words, you will love Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker.” Yeah, let’s hope so, otherwise you won’t have a chance to screw up the 3rd movie like the old group of guys did.

It looks like we’ve come full circle and Peter Jackson is now slated to direct The Hobbit, which will be split into two films. He was initially planning to only work in an ‘overseer’ role, but really, it just makes more sense for him to do this thing on his own. This movie is still a very long way from making it to your local theater, but in my opinion, this is a big step in the right direction.

Steve Carell plans on leaving The Office after the upcoming 7th season. The Office used to be my favorite show on television, but it’s really been lacking over the course of the last year or two. It’s time for them to call it a day. I’ll hold out hope that they can get the show turned around with him and then continue without him, but I don’t see any way of them making the show work without Michael Scott. It still wouldn’t surprise me if they tried. If this is, in fact, the end, it will be sad not seeing Pam, Jim, and Dwight up to their regular antics along with the rest of this outstanding cast.
