Security Update 2008-003

Not only did Apple release 10.5.3 and Beta 6 of the iPhone SDK they also just released Security Update 2008-003. In traditional Apple fashion the description reads “improves the security of OS X.”

As always the update is available through System Update.

Firefox 3 RC2

The team over at Mozilla are hoping to have the RC2 build candidate for Firefox 3 ready by Friday. While this won’t be a RC2 Final release, it’s certainly a step in the right direction.

According to Carsten Book the RC2 update will include some additional patches and localization updates. Outside of that details are scarce.

OS X 10.5.3 Released

Apple has just released Leopard 10.5.3 today, the update weighs in at 420MB.

The 10.5.3 Update is recommended for all users running Mac OS X Leopard and includes general operating system fixes that enhance the stability, compatibility and security of your Mac.

Wormux

I don’t know if any of you have played any of team17’s Worms series, but they’re awesome.

Anyhow, Wormux is an open source equivalent available for OS X (as well as Linux, Windows, FreeBSD, and also available in a bootable livecd form), you should seriously consider checking it out.

I’m hoping either team17 or the developers of Wormux come out with an iPhone version after the SDK launches. That would be fantastic.

We now return to our regularly scheduled programming

We’re back from the previously mentioned trip, and once the car lag wears off things should be back to normal around here.

Speed and Effeciency to be wed?

I’m a true, red-blooded American who loves the sound and feel of a true, red-blooded American muscle car… but I’m also intrigued by what automotive engineers have come up with in terms of a more refined, efficient mode of transportation.

Pictured is the new Wrightspeed X1 Prototype. There are other electric cars out there, but most lack something I consider to be essential to any sweet ride, and that’s speed. Speed is something the X1 does not lack however, boasting the ability to go from 0 - 60mph in 3 seconds. You read that right…. three.

Check out the rest of the specs here, and check out a video of the X1 going up against a Lamborgini Gallardo and a NASCAR here.
