Google doesn't have a tagline, why should we?
Don’t forget, tomorrow is Firefox 3 Download Day! If you’d like to find out more about what’s new in Firefox 3, check out the Firefox 3 Field Guide by Deb Richardson.
Firefox 3 Final is set to be released Tuesday, June 17th.
If you haven’t heard yet, Mozilla is aiming to set the world record for most downloads within 24 hours with the release of Firefox 3. You can check their progress here.
If you’re sneaky like me, you’ll already know that RC3 is live on Mozilla’s servers as of this morning.
But for those of you who are not sneaky, here’s a link to the Mac version.
Everyone else can grab a copy here.
The latest and greatest Firefox 3 release candidate is now available. The final version of Firefox 3 is expected to be released later this month.
I’ve been using Firefox 3 since Beta 2 and RC2 is amazingly polished, I highly recommend it, even for everyday use.
The folks at Mozilla announced today that they’re hoping to set a world record for the most downloads within 24 hours with the release of Firefox 3.
Check out their pledge page (as of the time I’m posting this they have 170,155 pledges) and join the cause.
The team over at Mozilla are hoping to have the RC2 build candidate for Firefox 3 ready by Friday. While this won’t be a RC2 Final release, it’s certainly a step in the right direction.
According to Carsten Book the RC2 update will include some additional patches and localization updates. Outside of that details are scarce.
I could care less, but Facebook launched their GoogleTalk clone chat utility the other day. And apparently, just like GoogleTalk you can run it in the sidebar in Firefox. Woot.
The upside to this is now you can chat with all your friends without having to open up Facebook, and you’ll be free to browse other websites while chatting.
To add the Facebook chat to your Firefox sidebar, press Ctrl+Shift+B to bring up the Bookmarks Organizer.
Go to Organize -> New Bookmark and type the following address: http://www.facebook.com/presence/popout.php
Also mark the box that says “Load this bookmark in the sidebar”.
Mozilla announced that Beta 5 will be the last beta for Firefox 3, the next release will be Release Candidate 1 (RC1) which should be out in early May. Mike Schroepfer, Mozilla’s vice president of engineering also noted that they are currently on-track for a June release of Firefox 3.0 Final.
Firefox holds a 17.83% market share according to Net Applications latest report, with Internet Explorer taking 74.80%, and Apple’s Safari trailing with just 5.82%. Both Firefox and Safari have seen significant gains in market share over the past 6 months, while Internet Explorer has seen a nearly 4% decrease in market share since October 2007.
When Firefox 3.0 hits final, I believe it will have a very postitive effect on Firefox’s market share.

What is wrong with you people? Why aren’t more of you using Firefox?! Granted it’s a pretty close race, but I’d really like to see Firefox take the lead.
Sound off in the comments, let me know what browser you’re using and why.
