Jailbreak 101: SBSettings

Jailbreak 101: An Introduction to Jailbreaking

So you’ve already jailbroken your iDevice and installed Backgrounder, right? Now you’re looking for a bit more awesomesauce?

Enter SBSettings. It’s one of the best pieces of software available from the Cydia store, and while incredibly basic it adds some much needed functionality to iOS. The big feature for me at leastt, is drop-down toggles for WiFi, bluetooth, brightness settings, etc. It also allows you to hide application icons, create folders (useless in iOS 4) and customize a few other minor things.

Step 1: Download SBSettings by opening Cydia, tapping search and entering SBSettings into the search field.

Step 2: Tap Install, then Confirm.

Step 3: After the install completes, tap Restart SpringBoard.

Step 4: Customize. Swipe down from your clock to bring up the SBSettings menu, tap More to bring up the SBSettings app, from here you can set which toggles you want displayed and in what order.

By default the theme for SBSettings is butt ugly, but you can download additional themes from Cydia under the Themes (SBSettings) section. You can also download some great addons for SBSettings from the SBSettings Addons section in Cydia.

Here’s what my SBSettings looks like after a new theme and a few extra addons:
