T.W.I.S.T. for Aug1-7
I’ve had a crazy week this week, so I didn’t have time to bring you links for most of these stories, and I apologize for that. But the last thing I wanted to do was miss a week, so here’s your biggest sports stories of the week, from my point of view.
News broke this week about Brett Favre contacting his coaches and teammates via text saying that he was calling it quits. Then Brett Favre said he was ‘undecided, but would probably play as long as his ankle holds up’ the next day. Seriously, who really gives a crap anymore. And honestly, the Vikings passed on some quality rookie QBs in the draft just to make sure they didn’t upset the almighty Favre, he then turns around and ‘retires’ after the calendar has already turned to August? I’m so sick of this guy. Let’s just wait until the Vikings line up on offense in the first game of the year and see if Favre is under center. Quit giving this diva the attention he so desperately seems to crave.
The rest after the break. (more…)

Saturday Shenanigans: Recent Entertainment News
It’s that time of the week again, here’s your entertainment news:
The teaser trailer they showed at Comic-Con for The Avengers is now online, click here to check it out. It’s not much, but you’ve gotta start somewhere.
Zachary Levi addressed those rumors we told you about in the last Entry Level Geek, about him auditioning for the new Superman movie. In a recent interview with IGN he said:
“It’s complete fiction. A bummer that it’s complete fiction!” Levi recounted how he himself began hearing about it. “I start getting these text messages from my friends, saying, ‘What is going on? You didn’t tell us any of this!’ And I’m asking, ‘What are you talking about?’ I get this link emailed to me from my publicist. She goes, ‘Just so you know…’ I go check it out, and of course, on the bottom of that article there’s all these comments, and every other article that spawned off of that and all the comments on those sites.”
“I guess one of the things that I fear is that people pigeonhole me in the nerd role,” Levi told me. “Because a lot them say, ‘Well, I can see him as Clark Kent, but I can’t see me as Supes.’” Levi laughed, adding, “I’m an actor! Just give me six months and a gym. Give me something! I guess one of the upsides is that people are going, ‘I can believe him as Wally West. Make him The Flash! I can believe that!’ Which would be amazing.”

T.W.I.S.T. for July 25-31
Welcome to TWIST for the week of July 25-31. NFL training camps have started, so we’ve finally got some NFL news to talk about! The MLB trading deadline also passed yesterday, so there have been a few high profile trades in baseball… ugh… baseball. When does football start?!
MLB
Roy Oswalt finally got traded out of Houston. The Phillies seem to always be able to grab the high profile pitchers on the market, and they’ve done it again. Oswalt then turned around and laid an egg against the Nationals in his first game with his new team. Lance Berkman has also found his way out of Houston, agreeing to waive his no-trade clause and ended up getting traded to the New York Yankees. Wow, the Yankees trade for a big name at the trading deadline… THAT’S never happened before!
There, got that MLB garbage out of the way. All the important news from the last week after the jump.
