  • Things I just don’t understand: Part 1

World of Warcraft: Game of the Year, mmorpg phenomenon, and all-around cash cow.

One might ask themselves, “How could someone who spends fifteen bucks a month to play a game (guilty) spend even MORE money on said game?” Say…five hundred bucks more? The answer lies in a 2×3 piece of painted cardboard.

  • 14 days!!

Just a measly 14 days until the fight will be finished. That’s right, Halo 3. It should break all sorts of sales records, no, it WILL break all sorts of sales records, and should be an outstanding game. One of the parts I’m most looking forward to is the 4 player online co-op. If you don’t know anything about Halo 3, I don’t know, you must have been living under a rock for the past 6 months or so.

If you want an idea of how big this event will be, check this out. Yeah, starting at 12:01 on September 25, Wal-Mart is devoting checkout lanes solely to those lucky few to purchase the new gaming goodness. I didn’t realize Wal-Mart was good for anything these days, but if they keep up these shenanigans, they might just get back on my good list.

  • Week 1 is in the books

Some of week 1 was pretty surprising to me. Some was same old same old. Indianapolis started out the season as impressively as they ended last season. Green Bay and Houston turned some heads. Here’s a look at the fantasy leaders of week 1:

  • One man’s guide to becoming the ultimate… housewife?

That’s right ladies and gentlemen, you read that correctly. I’ve embarked on the journey of becoming the ultimate housewife. Ultimately, this path will lead to becoming a stay at home dad, but I don’t feel the need to expound on that portion of the experience. I hope to use this as a sort of guide to starting your own business, learning how to help out around the house, and becoming a more “well rounded” individual (that’s what my wife says it’s called).

  • Salt water, the new clean energy?

Clean energyJohn Kanzius of Erie, Pennsylvania has quite by accident stumbled upon what very well may be the next generation of clean energy. While working towards his already lofty goal of trying to cure cancer using radio waves, John happened to create a method with which one could ignite and burn salt water.

Last week, a Penn State University chemist named Rustum Roy held a demonstration proving that the science is sound, noting that the water doesn’t burn, though the radio frequencies weaken the bonds holding together the salt, releasing hydrogen which is ignited when exposed to the RF field. Mr. Kanzius and Dr. Roy say the question now is the efficiency of the energy, and are presenting the technology to the US Department of Defense and Department of Energy to investigate how useful the technology will be.

Still don’t believe it? Check out the video after the jump.
