  • America is being run by terro-commu-crats

Or at least that’s what the old guy at work told me. He also told me women are great until you marry them, Jews and Muslims run the world together (huh?), and that pretty much everything in America is a conspiracy.  Help me. Please.

Also, if there are any job opportunities in the Lincoln Nebraska area with significantly less crazy, talk to me.

  • Jailbreak 101: SBSettings

    Jailbreak 101: SBSettings

So you’ve already jailbroken your iDevice and installed Backgrounder, right? Now you’re looking for a bit more awesomesauce?

Enter SBSettings. It’s one of the best pieces of software available from the Cydia store, and while incredibly basic it adds some much needed functionality to iOS. The big feature for me at leastt, is drop-down toggles for WiFi, bluetooth, brightness settings, etc. It also allows you to hide application icons, create folders (useless in iOS 4) and customize a few other minor things.

  • The MMA Minute – Major MMA Organizations (non-UFC)

After a busy week in the MMA world (2 events in 1 week!) we resume our series reviewing the history of MMA and it’s major organizations. To this point, we’ve had a 2 part series on the history of MMA (click here for Part 1 and here for Part 2), and followed that up with another 2 part series detailing the history of the UFC (click here for Part 1 and here for Part 2). I could break down all the other mainstream organizations and draw this out, but I’ve decided instead to just cover them all with a few quick blurbs in this single post, hope you don’t mind.

We have 3 organizations left to cover: Pride, which was purchased and absorbed by the UFC, WEC, which is owned and operated by UFC, and Strikeforce, which is really the only realistic competition to the UFC. Of course, nobody knows for sure unless they were to square off, but many believe that outside of a handful of fighters, many in the Strikeforce organization aren’t quite up to par of what the UFC offers. But competition will bring out the best, so it’s all good for the fans.

We’ll cover the history of these 3 organizations after the jump. (more…)

  • Apple Releases iOS 4.0.2

Apple has released iOS 4.0.2 for iPhone/iPod touch and iOS 3.2.2 for iPad to patch the PDF exploit that JailbreakMe.com has been using in their current browser based jailbreak. Meaning that if you’re planning on jailbreaking anytime soon, don’t upgrade your iDevice past 4.0.1 or else you’ll be sunk.

Never fear though, if you failed at using commonsense and have already upgraded, the jailbreaking community is hard at work on a new jailbreak for 4.0.2, although it’s likely this one will end up being a tethered jailbreak (in other words it will require a computer in order to jailbreak your iDevice).

  • What Movies Should I Be Watching?

As Hijinks Inc’s entertainment czar, I’ve been tasked with the challenge of reviewing movies, tv shows and games. I’ve brought you a wide range of reviews. Here’s a random 6 movies coming up in my Netflix queue:

We have 3 pairs here: Movies I’ve seen before and love (The Usual Suspects and Monkey Business), classics I’ve never seen before (Notorious and The Shining), movies that haven’t been released through Netflix yet (Cop Out and The Losers). This list is a good example of my taste in movies, very broad. I’ve been trying to work my way through the IMDB Top 250, or at least make a dent in it, and I’ve also got quite a few of the upcoming movies releases already in my queue, just waiting to be shot to the top when they release.

But maybe you’ve got some recommendations for me for a change. What movies would be worth my time watching, or do you think I might like based on some of my previous reviews? If you haven’t seen all of them, I’ve got a quick rundown of the ratings to give you an idea of my taste, after the break. (more…)
