My first 30 days with my iPad 3G have come to a close and AT&T has sent me a confirmation email letting me know I’ve been charged for the next 30 days, not a nasty letter saying I use too much data. Even if that may be true.
I’ll let this little screenshot tell the story:
Yes, that’s 16.2GBs of sweet bandwidth usage, not bad, right? Guess this means AT&T wasn’t lying about unlimited data… At least for now. Though I should note that I did cheat a bit and enabled the downloading of apps over 20MB from the App Store, which likely accounts for a few gigs of usage.
Fellow iPad 3G owners (or iPhone owners) what’s your bandwidth usage look like for the month of May?

Unfortunately, they’re ending unlimited data after June 7th. Unless of course you keep the unlimited data auto-renewing every month. Hoping my micro-sim comes before that happens, for the iPad data on iPhone thing… Currently I really only use 400-500mb a month, but VOIP can easily double that. Still under they’re 2gb cap, but I’m planning on starting using MyWi and get Xbox Live, my PCs, etc through the data.
AT&T’s full of BS

True enough, now I have to keep using excessive amounts of data purely out of spite.
Best of luck getting your SIM in time!
Sounds like something I would do. The SIM was shipped yesterday from Texas, going to New York. I’d imagine it’d get here Friday or Saturday, cutting it close. Even if I did go over that limit, it’s just another $10 for another 1gb of data, still cheaper than what I pay now. But unlimited still seems the best option.
I purposely stopped watching Netflix-over-3G at 4.8GB so that I don’t get any surprises. How many GB to watch a season of Lost?
Any comments on whether the iPad will activate only one microSIM, or ATT will remotely kill your microsim #1?
