Apple may have added multitasking into iOS 4, but it isn’t true multitasking. What if you want something a little more versatile? Or hey, maybe like me, you’re running older hardware which according to Apple “doesn’t support multitasking”, or even an iPad which doesn’t have iOS 4 yet. At any rate, I would highly recommend you check out Backgrounder.

This week I’m going to walk you through jailbreaking your iDevice, this used to be a lot more in depth process, but thanks to programs like QuickPwn and Spirit things are easier than ever.
Disclaimer: This tutorial is only for iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch running firmware 3.1.2, 3.1.3, or 3.2 and users running any version of iTunes 9 except 9.2. This does NOT work with iOS 4 or the new iPhone 4.

Jailbreaking your iPad with Spirit is easy, one of the easiest jailbreaks I’ve ever used in fact. However, there aren’t a lot of apps that work on the iPad yet, which can result in totally borking your iPad and having to restore countless times. So here’s a list of what worked / didn’t work for me.
